Three things you can do to get your home ready for the market.

“What do I need to do to get my house ready to sell?” Clients ask me this question all the time. The list can get be pretty overwhelming, so today I want to focus on three items that will get your property ready for the market:

1. Fix curb appeal. This is what your home looks like from the street. It influences your buyers’ first impressions and changes how they perceive the property. To boost your curb appeal, plant some flowers, put in new mulch, have a freshly mowed lawn, and finish any outstanding landscaping projects.

2. Paint. Now let’s move into the interior of your home. A new coat of paint will make your entire property look better. I recommend you stick with a neutral, muted color. This creates a blank canvas that let’s your buyers’ imaginations go wild.

3. Declutter and professionally clean. Your goal is to make your buyers imagine themselves living in your home—it should be as close to a model house as possible. By deep cleaning, your buyers will be wowed when they walk through your door.
