Three areas to focus on when getting your home ready to sell.
If you’re thinking about selling your home, you need to know the best strategies for getting top dollar. No two homes are ever the same, but I am here with a few tips that will hopefully give you an idea of what you can do to transform your space and freshen it up. Here are three areas to focus on:
1. The landscaping. It’s the first thing that buyers will see when they pull up to your house, so if you spend a little bit of time and money to freshen up your landscaping, it can make a huge difference and make them excited to walk into the house.
“Make sure you have the necessary permits.”
2. Your kitchen and bathrooms. Those are the areas to focus on inside, as many buyers love these areas. A little bit of time and effort in these rooms can go a long way. You can do a soft remodel, and freshen-up the space with new fixtures or flooring. Otherwise, you can completely remodel, which, of course, takes more time and money. However, it gives you a chance to redesign and reimagine. No matter what you decide, it’s a good idea to consult your local realtor to give you an idea of where you’re at in the current market before you start putting a bunch of money into your home.
3. Unfinished spaces. If you have an attic that could be turned into a bedroom, a basement that could be a rec room, or whatever else your house might have, use it! Finishing unfinished spaces will increase your market value and the price point of your home.
When doing any of this remodeling, please make sure you have the correct permits. These documents are necessary and will save you a lot of headaches later.
