Reasons why you should sell your home during the winter season.

Is winter a good time to sell your home, or should you wait for spring? I receive this question all the time, and yes, the winter months are a great time to sell. We usually have many home sales happening during the colder months, and here are just a few reasons why:

Many sellers are waiting until spring, so in the winter, we have much less inventory, which is excellent for you. Low inventory means less competition, and you’ll close for closer to the list price. Additionally, since there are fewer homes available, more buyers will be interested in yours.

“Winter is a wonderful time to take advantage of the real estate market.”

Buyers tend to be more serious in the winter. Most people don’t want to move this time of year, but there are plenty of reasons it’s needed: divorce, marriage, they’ve finally saved enough, etc. You also don’t have the tire kickers we often see in the spring; you’ll have fewer showings with more motivated buyers. Buyers are also going to homes for family gatherings now. They see all this space that’s available for them to be hosting, and it makes them excited about buying a house.

All these reasons and many more mean winter is a wonderful time to take advantage of the real estate market. If you have questions about selling in the winter or anything else, don’t hesitate to reach out by phone or email. We’d love to hear from you.
